Make Cold Brew Without The Cold Brew Maker
We all love sipping iced coffee at our local cafe. But, it’s difficult to get that refreshing cold-brew feeling when we are stuck at home due to a snow storm, quarantine, or out of pure laziness. Today, I’ll share with you two ways you can whip up some cold brew in your own home — even if you don’t have a cold brew maker.
Cold Brew With a French Press
What you’ll need:
3/4 cup of medium-coarse ground coffee
2 cups of water
French press
Separate container or pitcher to store extra cold brew
Steps:
Begin with clean equipment
Pour coffee grinds in french press
Pour water over grinds
Place lid on top of pitcher (do not press down on plunger)
Let coffee brew for 12-20 hours
Press down on the plunger slowly
Use 1:1 ratio of cold brew concentrate to water when preparing drink
Top off with ice
Cold Brew With a Jar
What you’ll need:
3/4 cups grounds
water
16oz Mason jar
Metal strainer
Cheese cloth
Steps:

Pour coffee grounds into jar
Pour water over grounds to fill jar
Steep 12-20 hours

Filter coffee through cheesecloth and strainer into drinking glass
